Fermilab artist-in-residence 2019 is textiles specialist Isaac Facio.
Isaac Facio will be given the unique opportunity to collaborate with the laboratory and its scientific community and translate observations into a body of art. The term begins January 2019 and runs through December 2019.
The program’s objective is for the artist to learn what Fermilab does, why this work is important and then use this information to create a body of work based on their findings. The program aims to increase the laboratory’s connection to the artistic community, and open up a pathway to a new target audience, thus increasing public appreciation for Fermilab.
After the work has been created, the goal is to share the work with the public to inspire others about science and the research at Fermilab.
