In a 3-minute presentation, early career scientists (earned a Ph.D. in the last six years) will compete to represent Fermilab in Washington,
DC!
In DC, researchers will have the opportunity to highlight DOE’s impact on innovative research programs that educate policy makers and others about
the key role that Fermilab plays in building the STEM ecosystem.
In a local round of competition, participants will present their research locally and one notable contestant will be selected to represent Fermilab in Washington, DC (March, 2025) on The Hill.

How: Participants will prepare and provide an in-person oral 3-minute presentation about their research at Fermilab. The presentation will be recorded. Fermilab Local Round will occur Dec. 18, 2024, 3:30 – 5:00 pm (One West) where one representative will be chosen to move forward to DC as the Fermilab representative and be among the other national lab
representatives.
What happens on The Hill in 2025:
• March 2nd (Sun) – Fly in March 3rd (Mon) – In-person training with expert scientist; meet
all other lab reps
• March 4th (Tue) – Meet congressional folks March 5th (Wed) – Day of the competition and winner
announced
