The public is invited to attend a free science event at Fermilab in Batavia. Seating is limited, and advance registration is requested. Adults must present a REAL ID-compliant form of identification to enter Fermilab. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Particle Physics: Uncovering the Secrets of the Universe

Speaker: Mark Thomson, Director General of CERN
Thomson will discuss scientists’ current understanding of dark matter, explore the early universe and highlight investments in future particle collider projects, including plans for the next generation of particle physics facilities in Europe and the United States. CERN is home to the world’s largest particle accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
