Joint Experimental-Theoretical Physics Seminar: First Search for Sterile Neutrino Oscillation Leading to νµ Disappearance in the Booster Neutrino Beam at ICARUS

Speaker: Elizabeth Worcester, Brookhaven National Laboratory

The Short-Baseline Neutrino program studies observed neutrino anomalies that may point to sterile neutrinos using Fermilab’s Booster Neutrino Beam. This seminar presents ICARUS results from an initial muon-neutrino disappearance search based on data collected before SBND operations, probing mass-splitting values of a few eV². Two independent reconstruction methods were used to ensure robust results. The obtained results of this first ICARUS neutrino oscillation analysis will be reported by the ICARUS collaboration.
